Get to know Niamh...
Niamh Noade is a Northern Irish singer-songwriter and harpist redefining the role of the harp within contemporary music. Blending classical with alternative folk, ambient pop and modern Celtic influence, Niamh places the instrument at the centre of her artistic identity, not as ornamentation or tradition alone, but as a powerful contemporary lead voice within her songwriting and live performance.
Originally from Co. Armagh, Niamh has emerged as one of the most distinctive young artists currently developing across Ireland and the UK, combining emotionally resonant songwriting with a rare ability to make the harp feel both cinematic and current. Her music moves fluidly between intimacy and universality, pairing delicate harp and vocal arrangements with sharp emotional clarity.
Still only in her teens, at 17, Niamh has already built significant public recognition through major television appearances and viral performances. In 2023, she reached the final of The Voice Kids UK after her rendition of ABBA’s “The Winner Takes It All” generated more than 20 million online views, and more recently, she captivated audiences on Britain’s Got Talent, reaching the Semifinal. Her haunting reinterpretation of Alex Warren’s “Ordinary”, and classic song 'Together in Electric Dreams', accompanying herself on harp, earned a standing ovation and praise from Simon Cowell, who admitted she had completely changed his perception of the instrument.
Alongside television appearances, she has performed extensively across Ireland from a young age, including Fleadh Cheoil competitions, Folk In Fusion, The Waterfront Belfast, and was awarded the All Ireland Scor na nOg singing trophy. She also has travelled internationally, performing at the Nordic Business Forum, in Norway and Finland, to audiences of 10,000.
There are echoes of artists such as Aurora, Kate Bush, Lizzy McAlpine, Phoebe Bridgers and Clannad in the emotional landscape of her work, but Niamh’s artistic identity remains entirely her own — rooted in stillness, vulnerability and the ability to make ancient instrumentation feel startlingly modern.
As her audience continues to grow internationally, Niamh Noade is positioning herself not simply as a singer-songwriter, but as part of a new generation of artists reshaping how traditional instrumentation can exist within contemporary music culture.
